2009 MR OLYMPIA FINALS

Cutler makes history

By Dave Lee

September 26, 2009

FLEXONLINE.COM

He wanted this one - bad. Last year, when Jay Cutler lost the Sandow to Dexter Jackson
, it seemed that the rumors of his inability to dial it in for the big show - Cutler barely eked out a victory over Victor Martinez in 2007 - might be true after all. Twice now, he had failed to peak on the one night when a champion is expected to bring no less than his best. Increasing the odds of Cutler never regaining the top spot was the long list of former Mr. Olympia's who lost the Sandow and failed to win it back. Until now.

Maybe it took losing what he already had to push Cutler further than even he thought possible, because on Saturday, September 26 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, Cutler beat the odds - again - to become Joe Weider's 2009 Mr. Olympia, the first man in the history of the sport to reclaim the title.

Phil Heath - 5th place. He still young, so he got time. Only been a pro bout 2 or 3 years. Gine gotta cum wid lil mo' beef and cut.

Victor Martinez - 6th place. Duh teef if from he two years back, so he 'in got nuh right coming in less than perfect shape, unless he did busy winning other shows during de year. I gine gotta check on dah.

It's not the weight I'm talking about, but the bulkiness...uh mean it looks to me if the bulky muscles would hinder certain movements and flexibilty.

No sir...I don't want my body looking that massive and muscle bound. I'd rather play golf for that money.

Well I would rather play golf fuh dah money too, but I don' consider golf a sport.
And since most golfers ennup wid back problems, I might gotta rethink dah.

Yuh can't compare de two. If yuh ova 25% bodyfat (33% fuh women), yuh obese. Too much fat is unhealthy. Is there such a thing as too much muscle? If there is, what is it called? Is it unhealthy?

Barring steroid use tuh get muscles dah bulky...I can't think of any other health risk. I said dat bulky muscles may impede a person's free movement and flexibility to some degree...I call it being muscle-bound. Everybody has muscles, but a large body builder cannot move as swift, free, and flexible as an average size man who is in good condition.

So I guess my next question is, (and you know I like to beat topics to death) is it really necessary in life to be able to move swift or free, or even be flexible? Uh mean, most people can't fun fast or can't even touch duh toes wid duh knees straight anyway. But I would hazzard to guess dat dese fellas more flexible than most people, since stretching is a important part o' bodybuilding.
