McDonalds was in Barbados back in 1996 but only lasted 6 months cause Bajans really not that big on burgers.

I welcome Subway with open arms because it is much healthier fast food dah Chefette, KFC, and the others that we have here now. These other fast food places are blue vex that Subway got the go ahead, and already they are hinting that some workers may get laid off once Subway opens up for business. They are well aware that Subway will take some business away from them...I am one fuh sure.

Yepp...and Chefette's standard is rather low especially with the preparation of chicken. They doan clean de chicken properly, neither do spend much time marinating it, and they certainly don't season it. It still amazes me how many people spend their money there on a regulah basis. I only buy de occasional all-beef roti, or wing dings when they have dum on special...which ain too regulah.

Wait, fuh real? Man, I had no idea! (ha ha  ) I was out uh touch wid Bim from 1991 - 2001. My frequent visits there stopped after 1990, but thanks tuh de internet and forums like dis, I been able to get back in de loop.

As far as McDonald's, I'm surprised it failed so quickly only because I would have expected them to alter their menu somewhat to accomodate de local diet. In other words, less burger related items, and more fish & chicken choices. But I en heartbroken ovuh its failure, caw when I'm in Bim, de lass ting I want to see is more McDonalds restaurants.

I agree, Subway is much healthier than de typical fast food joints. Plenty of low-fat, non deep fried items on de menu.

Sure I do sometimes...but there is a good reason why fast food restaurants exist as well.

And yeah, I would say Blimpies & Subway are pretty similar.
