If you wish to edit your profile or board preferences you should click on the link or button named "\User Control Panel" near the top of your screen. When you want to get back to the main forum screen just click "Board Index". There are 85 different board styles available to choose from in the "board preference" section of "User control Panel". I have set the default board style to "Vista", but once you're a registered member you can choose whichever style suits you.

The avatar problem has been resolved. You can now upload an avatar from your hard drive unto the board. Follow these steps:

1. Click on "User Control Panel".
2. Click on "Profile"
3. Click on "Edit Avatar"
4. If there is a red X where the image is suppose to be, click on the little box that says "Delete Image" and then click "Submit". This will delete the prior reference to the avatar you were using.
5. Click the "Browse" button next to the option that says "Upload from your machine" navigate to the avatar file you wish to use (you can reuse the same avatar or a different one). Once you have selected your avatar and click "open", then you can click "Submit" to complete the upload.
6. You can do the same for your signature by clicking "Edit Signature" to replace any images or links that may be missing from your signature.
7. Click "Board Index" to return to the main forum screen.

I will soon begin work on replacing smileys. 49 smileys will be available on the posting page as oppose to only 20 in the previous version of the board. This means we'll be clicking the "View more smileys" link less often than before. I thank you for patience and ask you to bare with me as I resolve the issues one by one.

We now have plenty smileys on the posting page. For those of you (including me) who love to use smileys this is smiley heaven.

If you find that there are too many smileys on the board let me know by replying to this post. As usual a majority vote will rule.

The following 3 board styles are recommended if you wish to see the pictures that I place at the top of the screen and change from time to time:

1. Vista
2. eTech
3. royalBLUE

You may choose any other board style that you prefer, but you just won't see the pictures.

I would highly recommend the BF_Vista board style...in my opinion it is the best of the lot (the background colour changes by itself...real kool).

I'll see what I can do about getting the board avatars to show up...in the mean time you can still upload an avatar of your own as long as the dimensions are within the 130 x 130 pixel limit.

Waltz, Freeforums has indicated that gallery avatars are not available as yet, and they cannot say when they will be...so you'll have to upload your own until such time. I have disabled the "avatar gallery" option until they become available.

I urge members to enter their date of birth in their profiles so that the Board Index will display a notice at the bottom of the screen letting everyone know that your birthday is close at hand. This way you won't have to tell anybody when your birthday is, they'll see the notice appear 7 days in advance and have time to plan whatever little surprise they may have in store for you.

Just to show you what it looks like, I have temporarily set my birth date to Sept 1st. I will set it to the correct date after that date has pass.

No man...I ain tek way nuh smileys from you. Once you reply by using "quote", or by clicking the "post reply" button below the last post, all the smileys should come up on the left hand side. If you use the quick reply box that appear after the last post, then you have to place a check mark in the smiley option box for the smileys to appear across the top.

If none of these options are working for you, then you better check in your User Control Panel and make sure you didn't accidentally turn off smileys somewhere in your profile.

Since this board was upgraded in August 2008, embedded links to websites in posts prior to the upgrade may not be showing up as they should, therefore if any member wants to look back at old posts and realize that websites are not showing up, just let me know so that I can attempt to correct it.

It will take quite a while before I can get them all working again (except for the Nationnews old links - they will not work since the Nation upgraded their site), so I'm willing to fix the old links that you may wish to see on demand.
