Well alrite den. Here in Bim you can go to The Plantation Garden Theatre the last Saturday in every month for "Back in time nite"...dancing to live music and DJ music.

maybe an age ting all four familiar tuh me, actually i think it was dat Baf Kays 45 Son of Shaft i bought on a trip tuh Buffalo an wen i played it nuh girl friend(she is de wife now) ask muh wuh nonsense was dat i bought ah few weeks later and fuh ah while we did funkin tuh it at parties...

Well I do remember the hearing about a group name Bar-Kays, but I don't remember dis song "Son of Shaft". But I do remember Isaac Hayes with "Shaft" (my mother had the LP). Jesse Jackson introducing Isaac in dis one...

Isaac Hayes "Shaft" was very popular, da was annoduh one of my favorites.

I do remember the Bar-Kays "Son of Shaft" as well. Not as popular, but also a decent tune.

Rufus Thomas also got de Funky Penguin, and de Breakdown; all similar songs. Except fuh de Ohio Players, all de other songs on de WattsStax album. Including de wun Walter posted wid Isaach Hayes was all in de same concert. I got de DVD of de concert. Bought it last year.
